sweet birdie birthday

This was my daughter’s Sweet Birdie Birthday for her closest friends. I wanted something sweet and simple (yay!) and she picked the theme and colors inspired by a gift bag she received a few months prior. I did my best to re-create it and loved the way the colors popped. I wanted to make sure it was age appropriate (long gone are the Barney and Dora cakes of years past) and girly.  Her friends “oohed” and “ahhed” over her dessert table and loved all the goodies. I made the fabric garland and all of the baked goods. I especially loved the birdie cookies. The cake was so big and tall it lasted almost a week.

I was a mean mommy and made everyone sing happy birthday and of course I sang the loudest and most obnoxiously and clapped too. They had a great time and my daughter said it was the best birthday she ever had (she says that every year!).

I can’t believe my baby girl is 12!

 

 

Aside from cake, the girls enjoyed chocolate cakepops, mini peach pies, sugar cookies, and cupcakes.
